Also in this region you can visit coffee and tea plantations on the Bolaven Plateau with a stopover at Tad Lo and its famous waterfalls.

Take a boat tour around the Siphandon or the 4,000 islands to visit the tranquil islands of Don Det and Don Khone. On these islands the atmosphere of the French colonial past is visible in the old buildings.

Coconut, kapok and bamboo farming are the main sources of income for the local people. There are no cars on these islands and electricity is only available in the evenings.

The tour continues with a boat trip to the Samphamith or Liphi waterfall which forms a natural border with neighbouring Cambodia. A drive from Nakasang to the famous waterfall Khone Phapheng known as the ‘Niagara of the east on the return journey.

This day tour will take you to some of the most remote areas in Southeast Asia with its laid back atmosphere and unique culture.

On departure you are in a good location to journey onward to Cambodia south of the border with good connections to Siem Reap, home of Angkor Wat.

Tour’s Program

Check into a locally run guesthouse in Pakse and take in the atmosphere of this southern Laos town for 2 nights.
After an early breakfast with local coffee, you will be picked up and taken on a tour of the famous Wat Phou temple, continuing to the coffee and tea plantations and waterfalls. Next stop is a boat tour of the 4,000 islands stopping at Don Det and Don Khone. Then continue to the waterfalls of Samphamith/Liphi on the Cambodian border. On the return journey you will visit the waterfall known as the 'Niagara of the east Khone Phapheng before heading back to your accommodation. The tour includes all transport and lunch.
A transfer to the airport or to the Thai or Cambodian border will be arranged.
